Hearing impairment und hearing aids

Unrecognized hearing impairment might lead to disadvantages in school, job and personal development. If you have the suspicion that you or your children are not hearing well, it is important to get it checked with an Ear-Nose-and-Throat (ENT)-specialist.

The prompt recognition and the successful treatment of a hearing loss are of essential importance. To be able to treat hearing losses successfully they should be diagnosed within the first year of life and a therapy should be commenced as soon as possible. This is so important, as the auditive cerebral development progresses especially during the first one-and-a-half years of life.

Certain forms of hearing loss can be treated by microsurgery, others might need a hearing –aid. An extensive ENT-examination will show the cause and the degree of the hearing impairment. You will then be informed about the results and the possible treatments.
